Life doesn’t always follow the course you expect, but every challenge has a way of pointing you toward where you’re meant to be.
Early in life, two things happened that changed me forever: I discovered golf, and not long after that I became the mother of Lindsey and Davis. My kids have always meant everything to me, and golf has been a passion from my first swing.
Before having kids, I worked at Nordstrom, where I learned the art of customer service, which to me means always going above and beyond. After Lindsey and Davis were born, I found a way to combine work with my passion, becoming a representative for golf merchandise and traveling to golf shops across the area.
But life took a turn when I realized my marriage was slowly but surely coming to an end. Deep down, I knew I would become a single mother and would need a stronger, more stable career to support my family. Interestingly, my curiosity about homes began back in high school, when I thought I might pursue architecture or interior design. That long-standing interest in houses, combined with years of sales and customer service, eventually pointed me toward real estate. The final sign came when I ran into the owner of Windermere, a local brokerage. After a conversation about the industry, he told me, “You’d make a great REALTOR®.”
In 2004, I earned my license and joined Windermere, where I worked for the next 15 years. The broker was right—my transition into real estate felt natural. I had found my calling. Even better, the flexible schedule gave me the freedom to be present in my kids’ lives, from school field trips to sports games.
Of course, the market has its ups and downs. I joined the business when things were booming, but a few years later, the crash hit hard. Those were rough years. As a single mother with two kids in high school, I picked up a second job so I could provide for my family. It wasn’t easy, but you do what you have to do. Looking back, I’m proud of the way I pushed through and kept moving forward.
Today, life feels steady and full. My kids are grown, both excellent golfers in their own right, and I now have two grandchildren who are truly the joy of my life. One of them has already started swinging a golf club—at just 18 months old! Spending time with my children and grandchildren is my favorite thing in the world, and I fully intend to volunteer at my grandkids’ school events just as I did for my own kids.
Golf, of course, is still a huge part of my life. Recently, I organized a women’s golf tournament and plan to continue hosting events in the future, this time with a greater purpose: raising money for families with children who have brain injuries or brain tumors. This cause is deeply personal to me. When Davis was just five years old, he was diagnosed with a brain tumor. Thankfully, he is completely healthy now, but at the time it was terrifying. Resources were limited, and I often struggled to even know what questions to ask doctors. That experience taught me a lot, and now I want to give back—not just by raising funds but also by spreading awareness and providing support for families going through the same hardship.
My journey into real estate grew into a career that perfectly balances my passions and my purpose. It has given me the ability to care for my family, serve others, and create space for the things that matter most—family, golf, and helping people through both the joyful and difficult chapters of life.
With 21 years of experience in real estate, my guiding principle has always been to put clients first by going above and beyond. I provide a true full-service experience, offering a trusted list of vendors to meet any real estate need and handling the small, time-consuming details—like preparing a home for sale—so clients don’t have to. Communication is central to my approach. I’m proactive, guiding clients toward homes that are a good fit and steering them away from properties that could be a mistake, even when it’s not what they want to hear. My honesty and straightforwardness mean I’ll say, “Don’t miss this opportunity,” but I’ll also say, “Don’t buy this,” if I know it isn’t right for them.
Another key strength is the relationships I’ve built with other agents. Because I work well with peers, my deals rarely fall apart, and I’m able to create win-win outcomes. Combined with my extensive local network, I often know about homes before they hit the market, giving my clients a valuable inside track and a competitive edge.
Sincerely,
Jenny Gullikson
